My floral journey started many moons ago, with a Saturday job in a local florist shop. I can’t say I particularly enjoyed the experience… bleaching filthy, stinking buckets; endlessly sweeping floors and dealing with lost Interflora orders was not really my idea of fun as a teenager! Needless to say, I soon found another weekend job and that was my lot with floristry… or so I thought!
Over the years that followed I pursued my love of art and completed a degree in ceramic design and later went on to run my own ceramic studio, followed by several years working within the marketing department of a busy graphic design agency.
20 years ago I decided it was time for a career change and embarked on a part-time floristry course at my local college. It didn’t take me long to realise I had finally found my calling!
I have been working as a wedding florist ever since. For the last few years I have also been a tutor at the renowned Tallulah Rose Flower School in Bath – another string to my floral bow that I thoroughly enjoy.
Creativity is at the heart of Wild & Co. I prefer to work a little on the wild side, allowing each twisting, trailing stem, branch or vine to tell its own story, as naturally as possible. Colour is another hugely important component in my work and I love nothing more than blending different colour palettes and literally ‘painting with flowers’.
Although I have a wonderful team, with many years of experience between them, you can be assured that I am always at the helm, overseeing every single detail of your special day. I am a total perfectionist and slight control freak, so I guarantee a lot of ‘me’ goes into each and every wedding we flower.
It is statistically proven that floristry is one of the happiest professions, a fact I can definitely substantiate. I won’t lie, it is hard work at times, but I consider myself very lucky to spend my days working with some of the most beautiful materials, colours and textures mother nature provides and bringing your wedding day vision to life!
